My Story

as a Mum with a disability I have got myself in a better place mentally and turned to Tiktok to distract myself from my pain and also to help other people in a similar situation to myself.

I have three children and have always felt the guilt of everything they have had to do to help their mum also would be in a single parent. in 2025 I became aware of Young Carers and an assessment was done in my home and my youngest daughter and middle son were recognised as Young Carers and we're given opportunities to help them and give them breaks much needed breaks that were needed.

this would ease a little bit of burden for them and in turn help me feel a bit better knowing that they were getting some more activities. Finding it hard to not be able to run around with your children can have an impact on you as a parent and this is where Young Carers helped immensely.

being the person that I am I'm all about recognising and I see there is not enough in any community to recognise Young Carers and the amount that they do but I also like to give back to the community.

through Tiktok I now have a team around me and with this team, we will be climbing Mount Snowden. Some will be using the scooter track because of their disabilities and someone will even use the train track if they need to and we will do this raising all awareness for Young Carers but also raise as much money as we can to put towards anything that is used for Young Carers and any events that are held for them.
